What's this all about?
ConFusion is a one-day tabletop roleplaying convention. It's a chance to play in a roleplaying game (or two, or three), to try out a new game or system that you haven't heard of before, or run your own game.
What's tabletop roleplaying?
Tabletop roleplaying is a story-telling game in which players (usually) assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting. If you're new to the hobby, you're probably most familiar with Dungeons & Dragons, but you might have also run across computer roleplaying games like Skyrim, Fallout, or Mass Effect. Or perhaps something less epic and more pastoral, like The Sims or Stardew Valley - there's plenty of different types of roleplaying game.
What's a convention?
A tabletop roleplaying convention is a chance to get together and play some roleplaying games. We'll be running three sessions throughout the day, and in each session, we'll have some attendees offering to run games. These games are all one-off affairs: you'll get a little blurb to help you decide what you want to play in, but you don't need any existing knowledge of the game or the world to play.
I'm new to roleplaying! Can I attend?
Definitely! Newbies are always welcome: we hope that you'll find ConFusion a friendly and welcoming place.
I have a question that isn't answered here.
Feel free to send us an email, or say hello on the Wellington Roleplayers Slack group.
